THE CLUB STORY
Mangawhai Waka Ama was established in late 2016 and is the outrigger canoe club for the east coast of the Kaipara District. We are blessed with an amazing harbour, moana, surf bar and beaches. A paddling paradise! From our humble beginnings we have grown from strength to strength, now having over 50 members, a club storage container/base and club equipment.
We paddle all year round and during the summer months have social and fitness/development paddling sessions throughout the week and weekend. For those wanting to compete, our club participates in many of the regional (and beyond) racing events.
Recently, we have started supporting youth teams to train and compete. We will continue to grow this when we have enough necessary equipment to cater for the demand.
